Thirteen days of Halloween read aloud: “The Black Velvet Ribbon”

“The Black Velvet Ribbon” from “Tales for the Midnight Hour” by J. B. Stamper
Text

This is a story that is very close to my heart, as strange as that probably sounds. It is not one of the better creepy offerings, but my mother used to tell it to me often when I was small and it was always one of my very favorites. I was started on horror at a young age, which explains why I am the way I am today. I imagine that everyone already knows, just from the title, what it is about, but I couldn’t not include it.

I hope it will give you a nostalgic chuckle, at the least.
